When is everyone..

Stopping your pills a few months before the wedding is a bad idea. Your body will go through changes, and who wants to be pregnant AT their wedding? Also, you'll then have to worry about having your period during your HM.

What worries me most is that you're saying that your FH wants you to stop before the wedding. What about what YOU want? It's your body. Even if you stop right after the wedding, you'll still be able to get pregnant within a month. If you're stopping early because you both want a baby, you really won't lose any time if you wait until after the wedding to stop your pills.

Whatever you choose to do, though, good luck!

Ditto.... Very well said...

Re: When is everyone..

I know there are misconceptions and lots of different answers to the question about having to wait 6 months of being off BC to conceive... I was told by my doctor that it is not true...so if i were you I would wait til AFTER the wedding to try to have a baby, NOT BEFORE- even though you said you will use other protection, they can fail too- and then you will be prego at your wedding, if thats ok, then stop- but it doesnt seem like YOU really want to... Whatever you decide good luck!

My doctor also told me it was a myth.

My main concern would be Aunt Flo. Shes a real B!+CH when Im not on the pill.

Not to sound like a pain in the a$$ but must we use the word prego? It sounds like we're making sauce here...

I am not stopping it until we decide we are ready to have children. probably about 2 years after we get married.

not until I have my career set. I say in another 4-5 years, DH wants 2 yrs.

I told him when he can start pushing out babies, I'm all for it!

I'm not on BC so this isn't an issue. We're using condoms now, and although I know even that's not 100%, I can't take BC because of health reasons.

We're going to try to wait at least 2 years before trying to conceive. If I get my gallbladder taken out, then I can go back on BC.

I agree with others though that you should not let your FH dictate when you stop using BC. It's your body that will be affected when you stop, and your body that will be affected when you get pregnant!! So you should be the one to decide or at the very least it should be a mutual decision!!

NEVER!!!!!

Just kidding. We aren't having kids for a while (I'm 25, he's 30 - when we're married) and want to enjoy being a married couple first. I'm not thinking of kids until I'm at least 28...I would be done w/grad school and where i want to be in my career.

i took my last pill this past sunday, we'll just continue with condoms from now on (the pills were always backup). i am nervous about stopping them, but they make me moody and lower my sex drive, so condoms will have to do for now. i am afraid though that my periods will be killer! and i am gonna miss having them be so super predictable. ~lacey

My Dr. wants me off now but I said no. Right now I can still control my period. I defenitely don't want it on the honeymoon. We agreed (fi and me) Right after the honeymoon I would go off the pill. Six months to a yr start trying. That is our plan.
I wouldn't before the wedding. You want to be able to have a drink at your own wedding.

i am confused. everyone is talking like if you aren't on the pill you are going to get pregnant. aren't condoms enough? we haven't had one break yet! (

I think from reading the first post they thought it was all birth control. I thought that too until she posted again later on.

We both aren't sure about kids at all, So the by 35 rule is in effect, Im 30 now, so no kids by 35, no kids at all, DH is fine w/ that too.

Going to stop their birth control?

FI says he wants me to stop in Jan 06.

Please be careful! I just read a post on one of the other forums and the bride was prenant 17 days after her wedding. I don't know about you but I want at least a couple months of being a newlywed before I become a hormonal mess. I think I'm going to wait until three months after the wedding before I stop the pill. Plus this way I'll avoid 'shot-gun' wedding jokes.

DO NOT stop before the wedding. You could have weight gain, cramps, bloating, or you could be pregnant and then you won't be able to fit into your dress!!!! I notice when I miss a pill. If I miss one pill I can't sleep at night and I get very anxious. I'm not looking forward to getting off the pill, and I would never do it before the wedding.

I also don't take BC. My body is so sensitive to those hormones it just makes me insane!

We use Condoms and have for 4 years with no problems. Never even a breakage or a scare.

We've also decided to wait' to have sex again until the wedding night with 1 month to go.
