When is everyone starting their hair/makeup trials?
I wanted to go to several places to try different styles and makeup. I was thinking of doing that this summer.
Do artists book up early? How do you know what will look good with your dress?
What is everyone else doing?

not sure yet- maybe early fall or when i know my dress so i can figure out how i want to wear my hair then practice

I wanted to start calling some places to see if I can start doing the hair styles.
Also, my girlfriend who is getting married in July is having her trial in 2 weeks with Red Carpet Beauty so I'm going to hang out with her to see how it goes.

Some of the hair and makeup people are booking for 2009 already but i think you still have time if your wedding is in sept. I've started mine though. I would just compile a list of who you'd consider doing hair and makeup.

I wanted to book a trial for July but she said I have to do it in the next two weeks or send in a deposit for my day. I thought that was weird.

ive started pricing out different stylists..and i might do a makeup trial in june, for my eparty...
other than that, probably wont trial til next year (plus im waiting to see if my FHs neighbor can do my hair..cause she normally cuts and straightens my hair)

I LOVED my first makeup trial so im sticking with her. Hair is another story. I'd like to go soon but i think i may wait another month.

I am actually doing my trial with Jenn and Oksana this coming Sunday. They do book up fast- depending who you use. I know Jenn and Oksana are pretty popular so I booked them early. I guess what you can do to find out what hair styles look best with your dress is to flip through magazines and see how the hair styles are with the style of your dress. I wouldn't check out the ad's but I would check out the real weddings they show on websites and in InStyle Weddings.

The girl that does my hair regularly is doing my wedding hair, so she told me not to stress about it. She's also going to hook me up with the girl that she works with for makeup.

im having trouble deciding this. since i haven't decided what to do with my girls (i don't think i can afford to pay for their hair so i don't think i should bring in a stylist that they're required to use and pay for) i can't figure out what to do. i have a trial booked in May, about a year in advance, with a salon near the RH. If I decide to pay for my girls, I'm going to set up a trial with Jen the hair genie if she's still available.
