We just got the MOG dress, and it took about 2 weeks to come in (from David's Bridal). Still haven't found MOB dress...

You should try and get on that ASAP. These things take a lot of time, not to mention that it'll most likely need to be altered, etc...

My wedding's in Sept and when I come up to NY (I live in FL) my mom plans on taking me to see 2 dresses that she has her eye on.

I'm optimistic that i'll like one of them so that she can order it right away.

From what I hear, you and I are both behind ... both my Mom and FMIL need to find their dresses. They both refuse to shop until they lose some weight - I swear, I wanna bash both their heads together!

I wish I had a say in my mom's dress!!! She lives in AK and I won't see her until the wedding! I'm so scared she will have a very simple dress and look silly next to the glitzy gown FMIL bought!!!

You should definitely share these feelings with her, girl!! There's nothing wrong with wanting Mama to look beautiful! It is, after all, her daughter's big day!

I think if you frame it to her in the 'I just want to make sure you look absolutely stunning' way, you can't go wrong!

She would love to have my opinion! It's just super hard because my mom lives in Alaska and I won't get to see her until 5 days before the wedding! My mom is also technology illiterate, so there is no webcams or texting of pictures!!! haha!!! My SIL is on top of it, but their tastes are so different! We will see!!!!

what if you asked her to take a pic of the dress, and go to cvs to print it out, then mail it to you?

you wont have to worry about technology (the cvs photo person can always help her develop in on the machine) and all she'll have to do is stamp it. of course, from alaska, it might take a week! lol but at least youll see it

Before you go nuts, wantes to tell u my mom got her dress at Nordstrom and my Grandmother got hers at Annie Sez and they were both stunning and appropriate (typical gown with a jacket, shimmery and stuff). so there was no ordering involved. Nordstroms has really beautiful stuff. Worth checking out.

good point. plus my mom is so simple that a lot of the mother of the bride stuff sold in bridal shops are too 'much' for her.
