First FH with his surgery situation.

Now my mom had her annual mammogram done few weeks ago and they had called her saying something showed in both breasts and she'd have to come back for another one and sonogram. She went today and she's still there

My dad is with her they've been there since 11:00am. He said they've found something and theyre doing more tests, but he didnt say much else, Ithink maybe because he knows I'm at work and doesn't want to upset me.

I'm sitting here trying not to cry, because I don't want my coworkers to see me crying.

I'm sorry to vent again.

Update: she just called me they have to do a biopsy. the tests they ran today showed it in one breast. they say its small, but without the biopsy they wont know what it is. i'm leaving work in about 30 minutes. i need to finish one report up before i go because i'm off from work tomorrow.
shes hysterically crying, which makes me want to cry even more.

I had this very same thing happen. I went in for my very first mammo..they found something suspicious, they asked me to come back for more pics, then they wanted to do a biopsy. I was freaked out. They did a needle biopsy and it came back abnormal but not cancer.

I had to get a surgical biospy but it all worked out. I read somewhere that 80% of all biopsies are negative for cancer. Just hang in there..it will be fine. Even if it turns out to be something, it sounds like it's very early and treatable.

thank you guys shes resting now. shes still very upset and emotional, but as soon as i came home she seemed a lot calmer after i got her to relax. thank you all so much.

thank you. i'm actually hoping that the doctor i went to for a surgery i had done(wasnt breast, but it was surgery to remove tissue that had melanoma characteristics, i'm fine dont worry) he does breast biopsies(sp) as well. hoping he takes my mom's insurance. hes an amazing doctor. i want her to get a second opinion.
