when it rains, it pours....literally!!

So....with all that crappy rain we had today we found out that we have a leak in the roof!!! grrrrrreattttt!!!! FH & I bought a house a year & a half ago, and we knew we needed to replace the roof but figured it could wait until after the wedding......well now it's been bumped up on the priority list, and we'll probably have to take out an equity loan to pay it off!!!! I'm so upset!!!!! We just found out how much we're getting back on our tax return, which finally started to make me feel better about the wedding costs, and now this happens and brings me right back down again!!!

why can't anything be easy!!!!! thanks for listening to me vent!!! I just feel so financially drained right now and I figured you girls would understand!!

Sorry Helen. That stinks! Here's a for ya.

I'm sorry, I know how you feel........we had to get a new roof after being in our house four months. We were told we would get another one or two years out of it which would take us to after the wedding but obviously the roof didn't want to wait that long.

It stinks, but once it's done you will be able to look on the bright side and at least you know you won't have leaks and it's another home repair/improvement taken care of.

Sorry that you have to deal with the financial burden right now.....it will get better soon!

IM sorry, I know how you feel-we had 3 things happen that totally killed us $$ wise then 1 good thing and 2 more bad.

Just hang in there, it will get better and things will fall into place somehow. Try not to stress to much and get twisted about worrying-keep faith tthat it will all happen!!!

thanks for letting me know!!!! you know what's funny I had called them a while ago b/c I saw the episode of Extreme Makeover that they were on when they were in S. Ozone Park, I was so impressed by them b/c not only did they do the work on the house, but also started a scholarship for the 2 young boys on the episode......unfortunately when I called them they said they only do work in Nassau/Suffolk.

I'm in Howard Beach Queens.....if anyone else has recommendations, please let me know.....we need to start calling and getting quotes b/c I really want this done as soon as possible, with only 6 months left, I don't want to have half of my roof done on my wedding day!! lol
