I almost fell over when I figured it all out on paper

Amazingly we are looking at $13,000-$15,000 tops (ceremony, reception, DJ, ceremony music, Photo, invites, flowers, and rings). I don't know how much favors are going to cost yet because we don't know what we want yet. We are fitting the bill ourselves, so we are making it as inexpensive as possible. We actually got really good deals on our wedding bands, we picked them out months ago.

I shouldve asked you to plan my wedding

I just try to figure out what I want and then shop for the lowest price available.

I couldnt agree more, we are spending whatever on things that will be done in about 6 hrs, that ring we will wear forever!!! that is why I am not looking at eternity rings ahhahaah, u know, cause its for eternity.

Mine is an eternity band also.. sort of like this without the things dividers. I wanted it to be no smaller then 4mm so I had no choice but to have at least 3.5 carats in it for it to look right.

Gorgeous Ring!

OMG!! I can't believe how much these things cost.

We are paying for just about everything with this wedding, with some small exceptions (FIL's paid the RH deposit and invitations and my mom sent us a check for invitations)
You know the funny thing too, we were pretty much required to have this big wedding by our parents.

Another question:
For the girls who are spending $50,000+,
are you footing the bills yourself???

We are paying for 85% of the wedding. FIL's gave us some $$$ that covers the photographer and church.

We happen to be super duper lucky that both of our parents are paying for the wedding...

We are paying for our honeymoon.

My parents offered to pay for the catering hall. FH and i are paying for everything else.

well..ours is costing us around 16K. (without Honeymoon). TO be honest..I feel better now after reading about the $$$ you all are spending.
Yeah...the budget stuff I read said to include EVERYTHING...down to the dress and the makeup...I have never been so organized!
I was in it as the fruggle bride from the beginning though...I thought we could do it for under 10K! NOT ON THIS ISLAND!!!
We are completely out of money though...like dead broke...so after the wedding..we have calculated breaking even...so at least we get a 'free wedding' in numbers anyway.
We are most likely postponn gthe HM though..since FH lost his job last month...yeah...that put a damper on our plans let me tell you.

GO YOU! We're right around there too...
I read a TON of things that suggested percentages for budgeting...like the TOTAL amount you plan to spend:
then take
4% for Stationary (all invites, stamps, envelopes etc...)
10% Flowers
10% Photo
50% Receptionhall/food
etc...
It all depends on your priorities.
Favors was in Misc. 6%...
ours are like $3 per person..but my mom paid for the $160 of that...which went to the almonds in tulle part of the favor...
sorry..i babble

The wedding alone is over $55K - we are hoping not to go above $60K. The honeymoon will be about $11K - and Fh and I are paying for the whole thing ourselves

Just wanted to say you should never ever expect to even brake even on your wedding unless you know for a fact what everyone is giving you. Sad to say but if you think that way you will most likely wind up dissapointed after the wedding.

We're well over the 50K mark, UNFORTUNATELY! My parents are paying for the Bourne, we are paying for everything else.

This threads make me sick to my stomach!
Uggggghhhhh....I don't even want to calculate because we are at least 15K what we originally planned for (and we aimed high)!

I blame LIW for all the extras I learned about that are costing us mucho dinero!

Re: When it's all said and done...

We are doing well...Our budget was $15k and we probably wont go over $17K and may even make it at the $15 if we try...HM is $500 total ( $3000 plus $2000 spending money) so $20,000 TOTAL...

We are spending more than we originally wanted to. Too much.

I don't even want to think about it. I feel sick.

After rings and honeymoon, it probably hit $50k...

and, between the 2 of us, our wedding bands only totaled $300...but, I added my e-ring into the total
