do you tell them price another photographer quoted you?

i would suggest that you first ask them for the price that they are giving you for their package /product etc. and then if you have a quote from another photographer that is lower than that, use it as a bargaining chip. That usually works bc most studios will want to be compettitive in their pricing and know that money will play into the decision making process. If the quote you got from another photographer ends up being more you dont have to tell them that! Or you can say that you are looking for them to do better.. either way use it to your advantage by bidding one company with another-- i have found its the best way to get vendors to lower their prices.

No I wouldnt. If in the end you really liked this photographer but they were too high I'd called them and say I want to book you but I was offered another package at xyz and that was more in my range. If it is like a 200-300 difference they may match it or they may not. Depends how bad they need work, overhead, etc. I say its worth I shot. I did this with several vendors and was very successful.

I always said no when they asked who I had seen. If i wanted a better price, I would say something like...

'Well someone else said they would give it to me for... what can you do for me...'

ALWAYS let any vendor give u their price first. If you give your price or even your range first they may go up to that price even if they were going to give you a lower one to begin with.

After they give their price then u can say what u were offered from another place.
