I fit into the one they had at the shop and they measured me and still says that size but, arent you suposed to order a size up? It is a corset and it is ok, doesnt close alot in the back but, that is how some wear it. I'm just confused about what size to get.

We got mine a size up! Mine was also a corset but I preferred it to be more closed than open in the back! Either way though

lol I ordered one size small, if I ordered my size it would be considered plus size (18) and it would cost more. If I ordered the 16 it would be regular price. I am working on my weight loss!

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
we ordered 1 size up. the sample fit me perfectly, even though i was at my highest weight ever but my mom insisted i go up a size just in case i gained weight. i have some health issues so it's always a possibility, but i've actually lost weight.
i plan to try on my dress again in 3 weeks when i am back in NY, and if the sample is big on me i might see if it's too late to size my dress down 1

Mine is about 1-2 sizes up, depending....I am a street size 6 or 8 and the gown is a 10. It's also a corset back, and I could have fit into the 8 b/c of that (one place, not where I ordered the dress, told me to get 8) but the 10 samples fit perfectly they way the corset should look according to Fantasia where I got it (they said it should be about 2 inches wide at the top of the corset--that's the way I like it)....

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
I was between two sizes (8 and 10) because of my hips. The 8 was just right but I was afraid of gaining weight so i went one size up.... Just to be safe. Plus I think it is better to let in than to have to let the dress out.

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
I'm real nervous about this.....where I fal with measurements is a size 12 and she said that is because of my bust . The sample I tried on is a size 12 and the back is closed but, not close together and the boob area didnt fall right. Now if I go up a size it wont fit right on the bottom and I know they'll be taking alot in but, wont it also make the dress lokk different with alot of alterations? I'm not to worried about the weight fact but, what if?? I hate being a thinker

I went up a size because I didnt want to have drama if I gained an ounce an then the dress didn't fit. I was between sizes but went with a 6 instead of a 4. They had to take it in alot at the bust but the hips were JUST FINE lol. Always go with a size up if you're worried about snugness. Fabric can be taken in but not magically created to give another inch.

I ordered two sizes up to fit my bust. My dress was also corset back, but I did not want it to be too open in the back. The dress fit better when laced closer.

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
Wedding gowns in general run smaller than street sizes.
I fell in between two sizes (I wear a street size 24) and I could have gotten away with a size 22 but both the consultant and I agreed it was better to order the 24 for me- it's way easier to take in a gown than to try and let it out.
Also you can't go by the sample gown sizes anyhow- they have been worn so many times and stretched out so they wouldn't be accurate size-wise anyhow.
My friend had tried on a size 18 wedding gown and made the mistake of ordering that size when she should have ordered a size 20...good thing though is that they had time before the wedding to re-order her gown in the correct size.

We ordered one size up, they had said 2 but I def. didn't think we needed that...and I can't help but think they will collect on all the alterations if we did! so I went 1 size up.

Mine is 2 sizes bigger also. My chest is pretty big and there is a jacket that comes with the dress so they wanted to be safe that it will fit. I'm happy to hear I am not the only one, I felt kinda bad ordering a bigger size!!!

Wow, THAT is brave!!
I did that with an entire summer wardrobe once, thinking it would 'inspire' me, haha, I didn't get to wear those clothes until the following year...

dont stress over this too much....one size is NOT that much of a difference & ur seamstress will make your dress look absolutely FABULOUS. now if it was a 5size difference then i'd say yea - dont do it lol. but we're talkin' one size. do what makes u feel comfortable. we ordered my dress exact to my measurements 'cause i knew i'd be loosing weight & didn't want to go a size up. However it is always safe to do so because if u gain at all it's a lot easier to take a dress in, then it is to let it out. But honestly, it's only one size - dont worry to much about it! ur seamstress will advise u to do what she thinks is best...

I'm not sure yet cause of price but, Lillettes. She told em to go with my size. But I am thinkingone up cause I want the corset closed. I know I am going to lose weight before the wedding, 18 months away but, I dont really lose in the bust I lose it in the gut. Go figure casue it is the bust that is giving me this problem, lol. FH doesnt seem to mind them but, I do.
