I fit into the one they had at the shop and they measured me and still says that size but, arent you suposed to order a size up? It is a corset and it is ok, doesnt close alot in the back but, that is how some wear it. I'm just confused about what size to get.

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
I was in between and 8 and a 10, I ordered a 12. It easier to take a dress in then to let it out! Better safe then sorry!

I would go with the recommendation of the bridal shop. Only because the wedding gown you tried on, could have been stretched out from having been tried on by so many other brides.

I ordered up in both respects. My dress designer runs very very small, usually 2-3 sizes (4-6 numbers) up from your street size.
I'm usually a size 4 (27 in jeans) and I fit perfectly in the size 10 sample. I was probably 3-4 lbs heavier than usual but still, that is a big jump! my mom insisted I order a 12 just in case I gain any weight (I've lost 3-4 lbs since then, but its always easier to make things smaller than bigger)
i've never worn a 12 in my life

Re: when ordering your dress did you go up one size?
I ordered one size DOWN from what the designer's size charts recommended!!!
I was scared that I hadn't lost enough weight by the time my dress came in, but it was literally PERFECT. Very minor alterations were needed (nip in the bust area and hem/bustle!).
That said, the size I ordered was 1 size up from my regular clothing sizes (most wedding dresses are ordered 2 sizes up from your regular clothing size).
HTH!

my measurements fell within a size 18. except my waist. My waist was 1/2 inch larger. I ordered the 18 and will lose some weight. My normal size is 14.

I never even asked what size they ordered. Gown sizing always seemed so different than street sizing it didn't matter to me what number it actually was

My wedding dress size was a couple of sizes larger than my usual clothing size.

I ordered my street size. I was at the Kenneth Pool/Amsale boutique itself and they decided which size I should go for based on my measurements. It matched my street clothes size. I am nervous as it's a tiny tiny tiny size and I only recently lost weight.

When she measured me i fell between two sizes and she ordered the bigger one and said, Its easier to take away fabric than to add it. I also ad a corset back so she said there wont be a lot of alterations.

The salon I ordered my dress at ordered me two sizes up. I wanted to do only 1! Consider yourself lucky if you don't plan on gaining weight cause you get in the end with alterations!
