When people RSVP no

When people RSVP no

Do they typically send checks then or after you get married? Just curious?

Not sure...they are suppose to send some sort of a gift though

Out of the 10-15 'no' rsvps we got, only one had a check. Honestly I don't expect people who aren't coming to send anything, it's a nice gesture, but I don't think that everyone does it.

We got a couple of checks, a lot of gifts though.

Interesting, all the no's I got had nothing...granted only 5 of em, but one of the no's is my boss who will not be coming because she'll be at her shore house...

And she is VERY well to do...wheres my gift at?

She could send it at a later date....maybe she wanted to get the RSVP out so you knew right away and then would send it later

I don't know about WHEN they come, and I don't expect a gift if someone can't attend my wedding, but I always send something when I can't go. However, it's usually something off their registry, instead of a check

I thought it was an etiquette rule that you always send a gift to a wedding even if you can't attend...maybe its just me!

some people did, others didnt.. Im not sure of the rationale as to who sends and who doesnt, but we got checks from about 10 poeple that said no, but we had way more nos than that

Out of our NO's, maybe 2 people sent checks, but the others who said NO sent checks or gifts in the mail right before the wedding or we got it after the honeymoon

honestly I didn't get a single gift from people who said no except one who went in with other people who were going

we had almost 100 no's and we only received one check... i didn't really expect any.

Wow. I am so shocked by this post!

Seriously I'm not doing it for the gifts, my boss I invited because I didn't want to be the girl that didn't invite her boss, not because I actually wanted her there...

But I always thought if you got invited to something you can't attend you send a gift...now I see I'm clearly in the minority!!

About half of the no rsvps came with a check.

Just this week we have been getting a few checks in the mail from people who RSVP no. Honestly, I do not expect a gift or check from people who do not attend the wedding, especially in this economy.

We've received some gifts and checks just before and after the wedding.

I usually send a gift after the wedding, something from their registry or things remembered. Some people think if they don't come they don't have to give a gift. Its a personal preference I guess.

We've recieved ~15 nos but no checks or gifts. I was really expecting anything especially since alot of people are out of work right now

Re: When people RSVP no

We got two checks with our first no response cards which came on the same day.. ya well since then we have recieved a bunch of no's and no other checks. We did recieve a few very nice gifts though.

It is a nice gesture to send a gift and 'etiquette' probably does suggest that you do.. but IMO there are people on our list of No's who are likely not attending bc of financial reasons, so I wouldnt think they would send a gift. For those who can afford it it woudl be nice but , hey to each their own!
