Hi everyone! I'm all turned around with my times. I'm really not sure when my fiance should get his tux. I had thought it could wait until closer to the wedding (We are getting married May 2014) but I'm hearing that I may need to get that done soon. How far in advance did your SOs and their groomsmen get fitted for their tuxedos?
I'm also curious about invitations. How long did it take for you to choose and get your invitations?
Thank you very much everyone!

When I was at an expo the man from Tuxedo Park told us about 6 months before the wedding.

We started looking in December and finalized exactly what we wanted the begining of January. We notified the groomsmen to go on their own time and they were supposed to have until February 23rd (1 month before the wedding) to get fitted (Men's Wearhouse dealine). We had 2 groomsmen that ignored the deadline and didn't go for fitting/to put down their deposit till 2 weeks before the wedding. It was stressful for me and I wanted to kill them but the tux place didn't care and filled the order without issue.

I think if you have groomsmen or your FH is a strange size (tall, husky, etc.) you may wanna go a little earlier than the norm so they make sure they have time to get any special-order sizes.

I'm getting married in May also. FH and I visited S&S Tuxedo in Hicksville. The guys there are nice and helpful and have decent prices (easily find stuff in the $120-150 range). All accessories: shirt, cufflinks/shirt studs, ties & vests (just not shoes) are included in the rental. They told us they will know what the new or discontinued styles (usually just vests) will be by February, so we're going to go back then and pick stuff out.
We previously rented from Men's Warehouse for a friends wedding in 2012 and they were more expensive ($220 - maybe just the particular suit that the bride chose). Each groomsmen had something ill fitting or missing, so I personally wouldn't recommend them.
