When should I...

I am sort of new on the site, although I have spoken to a few of you (everyone is so nice). I just ordered my STD's and I have no idea when I should mail them out. I think I am way ahead of schedule...but what do you think?: I am getting married actually 1 year from today

Since it's a holiday you can do them now pretty much. I wouldn't wait past September

I sent mine out about 8 months before the wedding.

I was thinking about 6 months, but I am so glad I asked...obviously sooner is better. I am so excited about it that I know once I get them I am going to want to send them out. I just might!!!

Right now might be a little too early - I would send them at the end of this year - maybe november.

This way it will be before people book their vacations for next year but also not too too soon that they loose them!

I think you should wait till about November/ December. It will still be on ppl's minds by the time your invites go out.

if its on ior near a holiday or have alot of out of town guests...9-12 months in advance.If you are just sending them to send them you can do them at like 6 months

congrats on your 1 yr mark!, it's safe to send them out 6-8 months pior in general, but out of town guests & holiday weekends (like yours) can be up to a yr in advance (some ppl plan big vacas in advance)

1yr to 8mth you can mail them out b/4 the big day and congrats on 1 yr to go

Thanks for the 1 year congrats!!! We do have several out of towners and it's a holiday, so probably soon...and I should have mentioned that they are magnets...I figured there would be less of a chance of them being misplaced if people had a place to put them

congrats on the one year mark!!

we are sending ours out this week which is just a little less than 9 months out. we're getting married the friday after Easter so we're worried it'll be Easter Break or something so we're sending them out now.

For a holiday weekend i'd send them out 9-12 months in advance. especially for the 4th, a lot of people have big travel plans.

i definitely dont think it's too early

I would say around 8 months before... I wouldn't wait much longer than that since your wedding is on a holiday. And congrats on the 1 year mark!

Generally 8 months before...if you send them out too soon, people are more likely to lose the STD and possibly forget the date.

We mailed ours 11 months prior. I didn't even think to check the etiquette so I'm not sure if I was too early. You may want to do them earlier b/c of the holiday.
