When should I register?

When should I register?

I'm getting married in November, so I am assuming my shower is within 2 or 3 months before that. I don't want to know a thing about it. When should I register?

I don't know why, I feel funny registering. I know it helps people with buying you gifts... But I just feel like its 'asking' for stuff. I don't know, I guess I am weird... I am more of a giver.

I feel the same way as you do. I wasn't going to register but FH says maybe we should. I mean, I just wanted to give my mom a list of things we'll need. Like 'toaster oven' or 'microwave'. I'm not picky with brand names or anything so I feel funny asking too. But I am sure whoever is invited to the shower will expect us to be registered to make it easier for them. As for when... I want to keep my shower a complete surprise as well. Maybe we'll register within the next month or so.

If you have a macy's credit card register there asap.

Once you register for everything you personally puchase on your card from now until your wedding date you get 10% back.

I am getting married in 20 months and registered for a few things at macy's just to register so i could get that deal.

I registered immediately. I'm not getting married until June 2010 and I'm already done registering. We're also having an engagement party, so we needed to get it done before then because people have been asking.

Don't feel weird registering. It's completely normal. Just don't go crazy on some of the items. I mean who really needs $100 sheets? People expect that you'll register and that way it takes out all of the guesswork on what to buy you and FH for shower/wedding gifts.

Fortunoff does this too. I just applied for a Fortunoff card b/c you get a percentage back for everything that any ones buys you off your registry.

You should register for the simple fact that it easier for your guest, and its easier for you to return, if someone buys you something off your registry you can return it no problem, even without the receipt.

Re: When should I register?

I just registered at Bed Bath and Beyond on Sunday because my mom keeps talking about an engagement party. But my friend also said that if someone doesnt know what to buy you for your birthday or Christmas they can always shop off the registry.

PS I am not getting married till 2011.
