I wanted to wait until I lose a few pounds, but someone told me that it takes 9 months for alterations... is that true?

9 months for alterations if you are weaving the fabric yourself maybe!!
Ordering the dress can be anywhere from 4-8 months (mine took about 6-7 months) and then you start fittings about 2 months before the wedding.

you should start shopping as soon as you can - in case it takes you a while to find the perfect dress for you. it took my dress 9 months to come in....alterations dont' take that long..... start shopping now! it's a lot of fun to play dress up!!!

They say to order at least 8 or 10 months before your wedding b/c it could take 6-8 months for the dress to come in.
I ordered mine in March and it is supposed to come in in August/September

I went about a year in advance. My dress took between 6 to 9 months to get in, so there's no problem with going early. Besides, it took me a month or two to finally find 'the one'.

oh God , dont say that! I'm at less then 8 months and I havent even really starting looking..oh no!

well, i ordered my dress in april.....a year before my wedding...and it came in in november....so maybe that wasn't 9 months...... and part of that was becuase september is a big wedding month and those dresses were made before mine was...you still have time....but what are you waiting for? don't you want to play princess?????

NO! I hate how I look in the dresses and I was trying to lose weight before going( which I haven't) Who knows?

You do have time to wait and see what the new fall dresses and new lines will look like. I was told that my dress would take anywhere from 4-8 months to come in and then you need time for alterations. It cant hurt to go looking though
