Re: When should one register?

Some people do it right after they get engaged in case people want to chose from the list for the engagement party. We did ours about a month ago.

Re: When should one register?

We did ours once we booked the hall and church, about a month and a half after we were engaged and just about one year before the wedding.

Re: When should one register?

We will probably register in January, about six months before our wedding...I'm worried if we do it too soon that things will get discontinued.

What we did was not register for things that usually discontinue like linens, towels and bedding. We did appliances, china, flatware, crystal. In Jan, we will register for the rest. We also registered at Williams Sonoma just for fun kitchen stuff. Have fun, registering is so much fun!

I dont know where you are going to register but I know at Fortunoff's (or BB & B) they have a checklist of things to put on your registry and some things are marked 'not ideal for registry item' because it most likely will be discontinued.
