How far in advance do you send invitations? I thought it was 6 weeks in advance to send the invite....

Re: When should the RSVP Date be?
we sent it 3 months in advance
but, most people have their rsvp date about 4 weeks b4 the wedding and send their invite 8 weeks b4 the wedding. u want to give people time to reply (and leave some leeway for stragglers and phone calls to people that dont send back the cards) u also want to give yourself enough time to make the seating arrangements and do the placecards.

Re: When should the RSVP Date be?
typically a month before example, wedding july 1, rxvp june 1....anywhere from 4-6 weeks before is a great idea...that way you don't cut it too close...also, generally you give them about 4-6 weeks before that to reply. and most hotels that you block rooms at require the reservations to be 30 days prior to the event, so it helps to make this the RXVP date as well.

Re: When should the RSVP Date be?
Our rsvp date is August 1st and our wedding is September 10th. I'm going to send them out around June 20th.

Re: When should the RSVP Date be?
Ok ~ RSVP 4 weeks in advance, invitations out 8 weeks in advance? AHHHH
That is only 8 weeks away!! Good thing we ordered them first.....
They said we should have them 2 weeks after we approve the proof... is that pretty much standard?
