So my wedding is not until November 09, so I know I have plenty of time, but when do you think I should start looking at/booking a DJ? I want to lock in a good price, and sometimes the longer you wait, the higher the price, right? When do you think would be a good time for me to start this? FH thinks its too early, and we should wait until after we move and are settled in, which would be after May. Help!
If you have a specific DJ you definitely want to book and don't need to research or meet with others, then I would book ASAP--especially for the more popular ones.
I would start looking now. It's never too early to compare what is out there.

Im in Aug 09 and i booked 2 weeks ago because i knew who i wanted because he knows my venue very well (and it is a difficult place accustically). Its never too early i think...get it out of the way.
We booked out DJ as soon as we set the date!
As soon as you kknow who you want and you have the money for the deposit
the planning stuff i've read usually lists booking the DJ as an early step. maybe around 1 year before. it's next for us after we officially book the photog.
i think you have time, but you also can go right now if you have a specific one you like, so they dont get booked....m,y next stop is photographer then DJ after that, im hoping to have every vendor booked by the end of 2008
