How early before the wedding do you guys think I should book the hall/synagogue if I'm picking the Sunday night before Memorial Day Monday 2006. Keep in mind that there are only 3 'Sunday before Monday holiday''s from May to October (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day).

Re: when to book a place
Now. I've known a lot of people that booked their holiday weekend wedding two years in advance if it's high season and a popular hall.
I got engaged in Rome last month and literally started calling places the morning I got back because we had to have next July, preferrably on a Sunday early... well, no good at my #1 place... all booked so it's Monday, July 4th!
Good luck... get a guest list and start calling.

I would start looking and book it as soon as you can. You never know when they get filled up! We booked ours a little over a year and we're getting married the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. Sat night and Sun night were already booked!

ASAP!!! People are planning more far out these days. If you have a couple places in mind, just call and see if they have the date available.

I agree I booked in 3/04 for 7/06 and quite a few of the dates for 2006 were already taken, especially holiday weekends.

Re: when to book a place
I agree with all the girls about booking asap. I can tell you I was originally looking for that Sunday Memorial Day weekend 2006 and my top two choices at the time were already booked! I even asked how much earlier it had book and at one place it was booked 6 months ago! So if you're looking to get the sunday night of a holiday weekend, definately start calling around. Good luck !

Re: when to book a place
Thanks for your advise everyone.
Apparantly, my FIL's are going to call my parents after this weekend and invite them out to dinner. No one will let me look until 'everyone gets together to talk.' As soon as that happens, I'm going to look.
There goes working on my dissertation and applying for internships!
Also, some of you have mentioned that you looked at places or know people that have looked at places for 5/28/06 that are booked. . .or even that you booked a place. Can you tell me which ones you know are booked so I don't bother?
