When to book hair & makeup?

Two of the salons I called (including my regular hair stylist) are telling me they won't do a trial or book my day (October 23) until August - is this normal? When did everyone book their hairstylist and makeup artist? I'm beginning to get nervous!

No worries I went through the same thing. My salon had an issue with this... they wouldn't book my date until January and my regular stylist wouldn't see me until the beginning of March for a trial (my wedding was April 17) I asked her about it and she said she wanted my hair as close to the legnth that it was going to be on my wedding day as possible. But everything turned out OK and I loved my hair! I trusted my stylist to the fullest. I also knew exactly what I wanted, and wouldn't consider changing my mind. So I'm sure that was an added bonus.
But if you do end up sticking it out and going with your regular stylist, make sure you have an idea of what you want. It will def. help ALOT.

I'm in that boat...I can't schedule the appointment for Oct 23rd until after July 4th they said...I'll be calling next week.

that's totally normal...

I am only going for trials now...
