When to book honeymoon?

When to book honeymoon?

I am not getting married til July 2010. I think we will end up doing a Sandale All Inclusive. How early do you book your honeymoon normally? Some friends of mine were saying we should book now (that seems too early to me booking a year in advance). My cousins told me that it's better to book maybe 4 or 5 months before. Opinions??

If Sandals is having a sale (which they do quite often), I would book then.

If they're not having one, 4-5 months seems good to me unless you're going during peak time.

Sandals is always running those sales which Im sure are still on but imo, you shouldnt wait on booking the Sandals part of it just in case the sale ends. Your deposit is FULLY refundable up until 46 days prior and you can also gt a price reduction if the price goes down (which I also did like 3 or 4 times when I was planning on going) and you can also switch from one Sandals to another if you change your mind. In regards to airfare, it doesnt come out until 330 days prior. A couple of travel agents have told me that the best prices are about 9 months prior to the trip rather than as soon as they come out or only a few months before. Of course, the cheapest airfare is sometimes like the week before but of course you wouldnt want to wait till then.

Sandals is offering a sale now. I think up to 65% off I would see when the sale ends. It would be worth booking it now if you could. Airfare cannot be booked until 330 days out. I am planning on booking our hotel next week. And the airfare when it opens up.

If you can swing deposit, I would book now, while Sandals is having specials, before the economy improves

I went to a travel agent yesterday actually. We just wanted to get an idea of how much things would be for a Sandals vacation. She explained that the airfare is quite high right now for when our trip is in May. As time goes on, airlines will post more flights and the price will go down. We were told that we can reserve our date at a Sandals location for $300. I didnt realize that you could still qualify for the different promotions that go on after you book. Right now, Sandals is offering a $250 spa credit (which can be used for massages and other extra things you would normally have to pay for) The trip was also discounted for about 65% off. I dont know what your budget is but it seems that rates are between $3500-5000 depending on the resort for honeymoon packages. Hope this helps!
