when to extend rehearsal dinner invites

Hi girls looking for some advice
when is the proper time to send rehearsal dinner invites? two months before? one month before?
and who sends them? if the grooms family is giving the event do they send them?

My FILs are paying for the RD but I am sending the invites out about 3 weeks before the event with an RSVP date of 4 days before the RD.

we sent ours out 4 weeks in advance with a RSVP date for one week before.

Even though FILs gave us money, it's going to be a small pizza party at our (me and FH) house. I think we'll probably invite people 3 weeks before. I'm not even sure yet if we'll do invitations, I don't think it's necessary.

We sent them out at the same time we sent our invites because May is a busy month I wanted to make they had the date available.

We are sending them out one month before with an RSVP of one week before. Most people already know when it is though - we confirmed the date with the bridal party when we booked everything.
