Hi girls, another beastly week is here and I don't have the time of day to research this so I'm hoping ya'll can help!
How long before the big day is it suggested to color/highlight your hair?
I think I also read somewhere you shouldn't do both procedures at the same time...
Would appreciate your advice girls! w almost a month left to go I'm a mess!!

i did a week before.. i think doing both at the same time is fine..
i did roots and a brownish overlay and it actually came out the best that time around.. go figure!

Lupita, my natural hair color is black, JET black, and you've seen my hair color now, right?? lol
I personally like my hair color when it's faded a bit because I can sometimes get a brassy tone which I hate and do NOT want for the wedding day.
That said, I am doing my hair color AND highlights (I always do them on the same day and no one ever mentioned not doing them the same day) this weekend - 4 weeks before the wedding. Then the weekend before the wedding, I am going in to have them touch up my roots.
So I'd recommend going a week before. For me, anything more than a week and you can start to see the roots - don't want that for the wedding, so I am doing my roots 6 days before the wedding.

Take it from someone who did highlights 2 weeks before her wedding & HATED IT. Give yourself enough time incase you have to go back & correct something. Luckily I had enough time to go back and add toner to it but I think 2 weeks before gives you enough time to fix anything if it's not perfect and you still wont have roots showing

As a beauty school drop out I would say a wk 1/2 to 2 wks before.

I go to Denise Venti for color and she said about a week and a half before the wedding is the perfect time. over 2 weeks you actually start to get a small root which will show in photos..

What a nightmare! If you are just getting your regular color then totally a week before... if you are lightening or trying something new, err on the side of cautious for two weeks.

My natural hair color is cafe. REALLLY DARK but I did color and highlights 3 days before and it was beautiful. I know Im nuts lol but if you have a phenomenal hairdresser, she can make it happen. My hair felt good too after-no nasty straw texture. I didnt want to have roots in the clsoe up shots because my hair grows FAST.
