I was gonna go the Friday before the wedding to get the french manicure tips put on....do you think that it is to close to the wedding for the first set or should i go now to get the first set put on and then go to get a re-fill before the wedding ?
I would go now and get a re-fill before the wedding. The first time always looks 'off'...IMO you need a refill or two for them to look natural.

I agree you have to get use to the them too which might take longer than a few days

I hate a full set of tips - my hands feel so weird, so I would go a few weeks before so they look more natural for the wedding

Re: When to get tips put on?
the french tips always look way too thick when you first get them, because they are just one big white tip. after they grow out a little with your own nail, they will be perfect. go the day of the b-party. maybe i'll go with you (if i have time considering i have 500 other things to do that day)

IMO, I would get them put on now so that you have time to get used to them. Also, they might look more natural after a fill in.

Re: When to get tips put on?
I never had tips but I did have virtual nails put on a few months ago. I was not all that happy with mine but a few brides on LIW have had them and liked them.
They last about 2 weeks and you do not have to have your own nails 'prepped' before getting them. They are glued over your own nails. That was huge for me since my mom gets tips put on all the time and her own nails are really weak after getting tips for so long.
I got mine done at Dashing Diva in the village but I bet lot of places have virtual nails.

They are kind like press on nails but last longer. They are glued on to your own nails so no need to cut them or file them down. They are about $20 but you do need to go to the salon to have them removed.
i would get them now so it gives you time to get used to them too...

Re: When to get tips put on?
I did it the Thursday before only because there was sooo much to do on the Friday. Dropping stuff off at the hall, last minute packing, etc.
Are you going to do the kind where the french is embedded in the nail? I did and they looked great and lasted a long time.

Re: When to get tips put on?
You need to get a fill in every two weeks.
So you should get them at least two weeks before the wedding and then right before get your first fill or second if you get them put on a month before.
