When to Make Votive Placecards?

When to Make Votive Placecards?

I want to make the votive placecards, but I am wondering when people make them?

Obviously you need to get your RSVP's back and do your seating chart...does that leave enough time to make them?

Are they quick to do?

I am starting to freak about all the little things I need to get done!

All advice is appreciated!

I did mine last weekend (2 weeks before the wedding). They can be time consuming and I had my share of issues with them. If you can do the one's you know for sure and where they are sitting already, then I would do them, and leave the other's for when the RSVP's start coming in.

Does anyone have a word template they used? I'd also like to do the ones for the people I know are coming...

Honestly, I wouldn't touch this until your seating arrangements are completely done. Even those people you *think* you know about may change and in the end you'll just cause yourself a lot of extra grief if you have to redo work you've already done.

My advice is to get the template set up, try it out, even type up the entire list of guests names if you want (you can delete the No's later) but don't start putting tables and numbers under them and definitely don't actually print and make them until that's finalized.

Is there a template for the votives?

Hi! The votives were surprisingly quick to do (i hadmy mom and sister do them with me) took a few hours. I also didn't glue the vellum on...got too messy and sloppy. i jus used clear scotch tape believe it or not and you couldn't even tell! they were awesome! good luck! Oh, the longest part of the whole process was typing the peoples names in the vellum label format! You could start that and leave the table number blank until you get the final table seating! that would save alot of time!
Good luck!

I'm so glad you said that about the scotch tape because I was thinking the glue might give out with the heat. Is there a template? How did you know how much vellum paper you needed? Did you just use the size of the votive holder to guide the size of the paper?
