When to order Favors

When to order Favors

Hey Girls -

So FH and I are 100% settled on our favors. The website that I am going to be ordering from actually has them on sale right now from $2.85 per favor down to $1.79. For the amount that I would need, that's $160 difference in price!

My question to you is, do you think I should order them now or wait? My worry is that since they are on sale, they may not be available for purchase if I wait or they may not be on sale and I would miss out on saving $$. My mom thinks I should order them, my DOC said that it doesn't hurt to order them now and get them out of the way, and FH says it's up to me (very helpful).

So what do you girls think? When did you all order your favors (if you are doing favors)?

I should also mention that storing these for a year will not be a problem because I have my mom's entire basement to keep them in and out of the way (along with all other wedding related stuff) and if I order more than I need, it's not like I couldn't make use of them in our own home or be able to hand them out to family members that may want more.

well since you've decided on it already, just do it. You'll have them out of the way and save a lot of $. Get ordering girl!

I'm going to try and go this weekend to talk to FMIL and see who she thinks out of FH's OOT family will most likely no be able to make it (he has lots of family from Ireland and England who may not be able to make the trip). That way I can get a better estimate of how many I'll need. I alreayd know which of my family and friends that I am inviting that will most likely not come.

i think it's always best to get things out of the way, esp when you are 100$ definite that this is what you want. as long as the favors aren't perishable, i would just get them now.

it'll also make it easier (mentally).. when it comes closer to the wedding day... and you have less checks to cut...

I would order them now ... just make sure you order enough of them (plus at least 10 or so extras).

If your guest list is anything like mine, it'll grow by about 20% before the wedding ... just make sure yours doesn't

I'd say the earliest 6 mos. before. It's funny how the guest list changes. I actually just had to pry a label off an envelope right now because one of the invitees died!

If you're sure you won't change your mind, I say go for it! I bought mine back in January as soon as I found them. It took me over 6 months to find a favor I liked, so the second I saw it, I jumped on it.

Yeah I was factoring in about 10 extra in my estimate.

And trust me, because I am very stubborn, the guest list is staying the way it is. We've already done the preliminary guest list, and then we had a few extras that got added and we've already gone through 3 rounds of cuts. If anything, they way the list stands now, I actually have a few more people I am willing to cut so if anything the guest list will be lower.
