I need help in figuring out when to order my invitations. I dont have a completed guest list yet bec FH is yet to ask his Dad who he is inviting!! ughh!! anyways, how many months before the wedding did you girls have your invites ordered???
I was going to order them In Mid-January & mail them in Late March for an RSVP date of April 25th. Being that I will have finals and the Bar exam to worry in May about I wanted to save some time for myself to call anyone who has not rsvped. Thughts?

I ordered mine as soon as I found the ones I liked and got it out of the way as early as possible then sent them out as soon as it was time to.....

I started the process without having a full guest list. If you are getting custom invites then they ask you a general number but it's not set in stone and can change. Let them create a couple of mock-ups for you first to decide what you like and then go from there. The deposit usually just covers the cost of your materials.

I ended up DIYing but when I was originally planning on ordering it was going to be 2 months before I wanted to send them out and yes I had a final guestlist. From experience order at least 10-15 more and about 20-25 envelopes. We had to add people and then we got invites back in the mail so had to resend them out.

I think it depends on the type of invitation you want. But you would always rather have them early then be waiting for them.

yes, but you always order extras anyway bc people get added, etc
my wedding is in march and i was told i should have them ordered by oct
we actually just ordered them though bc why not just get it out of the way

I would order them as soon as you find something you like. I waited and waited and then ended up having all sorts of drama.

ORDER THEM ASAP BECAUSE YOUR INVITE PERSON MAY HAVE A 'SITUATION' ARISE, HALF AZZ YOUR INVITES OR FORGET TO MAIL THEM ALL TO YOU IN ONE PIECE.....
OR SHE MAY MAIL THE WRONG COLOR RIBBON OR HAVE THE GRAPHICS COME OUT IN ERROR, WHICH ESSENTIALLY, IS YOUR FAULT

I ordered them in October 09... but with all the revisions i didnt actually get them until February... and there was a mistake on those so i had to wait another week for the final invite

Same here!!! As soon as I found the ones I wanted, I started the process. and my wedding isnt until December 2011!

Mine were custom made, so I began the process in June'09. I received them in hand in Jan'10.

We have the invites picked out, but I think I am going to wait until around October/Nov to order them. Pur guest list is pretty much completed but I am going to be ordering extra in case we have an last minute invites.

mine are from indianweddingcard.com and they are also adding all the names & addys on he invites for me in gold to match the invite thats why I was hoping to wait for a more fuller list but now im scared lol
