Re: when to register???
We registered just a few weeks ago for our October wedding. I usually buy someone a wedding gift when I get the invitation or a few weeks after I RSVP. So I wanted the same to be true for me - as long as you're registered before the invitations go out, you're ok.
If you're having a bridal shower, you should register for small kitchen appliances and other small stuff before the bridal shower invitations go out as well.

Re: when to register???
I say register ASAP, especially if you plan to do so at Macy's since you earn reward points on all Macys purchases from the time you register until the date of your wedding.
Only a handful of things have been bought off my Macys registry so far, but I've bought clothes and other things and have already accumulated $500 towards a future gift card! I registered in late January and wish I had registered months before because I did most of my holiday shopping at Macys and could have gotten A LOT more $$ towards the gift card

Re: when to register???
register after you become engaged incase someone wants to get you an engagement gift. Just keep on top of updating it as somethings might go out of stock or be discontinued.

Annoulak - do you have to charge your purchases on your Macy's card to qualify for these reward points or can you use any method of payment?

Yes, the bride has to use your Macys card to get 10% towards the gift card, but your guests don't have to use a Macys card for you to get 5% of the registry purchases towards the giftcard (they just have to give the registry paper to the cashier at the time of purchase which most do anyway)

Re: when to register???
you can start your registry when you and FH have time, you can always revisit it and update items. Sometimes family members and friends might want to get you items for your engagement party from the registry.

Re: when to register???
We registered right after we bought our house. It was January/February for and we got married in September. Register as soon as you want.

Re: when to register???
We registered about a month ago for our 10/4 wedding. We didn't do it until BP started harrassing me for a list! They wanted to start sending invites for the shower and needed to know where were registered.

I'm going to make it about 3 months before the Engagement Party. I would just make sure you have them done before the engagement party invites go out.

Re: when to register???
we had an e-pary a year before (it was supposed to be 2 years before but we pushed it up) and we registered for every day things that we needed. We didn't put too much just stuff within a reasonable price.

Hello date twin! I think I began one of my registries about a month after we got engaged! So, basically sometime in April... Some people told me that was too early, but as long as you keep on top of it (remove any discontinued items, add new ones) then you should be fine! I had so much fun with that little scanner too
