If you're not having an engagement party, and of course don't know when your bridal shower is - when do you register? 6 months before the wedding?

We didnt have an engagement party, so we just registered a few months ago..I dont know what teh standard is..we just did what worked for us..my wedding isnt until January so I guess we registered 8 months before our wedding. I dont know if it necessarily matters when you do it...in our case we had to do it when were at a mall with Fortunoffs..which isnt really a convenient mall for us..we happened to be there..so we just got it over with. My shower is in November, so I just registered at a second place this past week. Do what works best for you and yoru fiance's schedule!!! Have fun!!

you should have a small registry somewhere(fortunoffs maybe?)... some people may get you gifts even without an engagement party

I registered a couple months after getting engaged. Even though your not having an e-party people may still want to buy you gifts. I don't think it's ever too early.
