When to Send?

Okay - here's a question...

I know the standard send the invites timing is 3 months prior to the wedding..

My quandry... We're getting married in January and the earlier you book travel - the better deal you get - especially around any holidays. So - we want people to know in advance about the wedding timing, etc...

The save the dates went out a LONG time ago - we were so excited to get them out.

For a January 20th, 2008 wedding - when should I send the invites - to be safe??? I was thinking second week in September and have the RSVP date be early December or late November...

What are your thoughts???

I am also sending out my invitations earlier than the norm because of the holidays. I am worried about invitations and response cards getting lost among the holiday rush of cards and gifts.

I would send them out in October some time if you are really concerned about traveling plans. That is when we are aiming to send our's out. We are thinking about an early November response date.

Right - that's a concern that all the stuff will get caught up in that rush of mail & our mail service is horrifying as it is. We're actually thinking of getting a PO box for the RSVP's...
