When to Send E-Party Invites

When is a good time to send e-party invites? We're having a backyard event, so we'll need a fairly good estimate as far as how many tables, chairs, centerpieces, etc. to get and ow much food to order from the caterers.

I was thinking of sending the invites out 2 months before and having RSVP's due one month before? Is that not enough time? Too much time? We're having the party about a week after July 4th on a weekend night... do you think that's something people would need more notice for? Less?

our e-party is may 24th, and the invites were mailed out march 24th with an rsvp of 2 weeks before

even though now i wish i would have had the rsvp 3 weeks before

ya i have a feeling im going to too--

were mainly inviting family and i think its their understanding that bc theyre family they dont have to rsvp, but the majority of them are oot and i have noooo clue whether or not theyre coming-and i eventually have to give a count to the restaurant!
