When to send Invites/ request RSVP

We are trying to cut our list down, and so ... we are making a 'B' list.

This raises the question of... when to send invites, and expect the 'A' list to RSVP?

Is 10 weeks too early to send them out?
Is 6 weeks too early for RSVP?

When should we start sending 'B' list invites- as soon as we get some 'NO's? Or at the 6 week mark- which means separate printings of invites (we are probably DIY-ing)

And then, will it be obvious to people that they are B-listers?

Our wedding is October 12th '13, and we're figuring we'll send invites out at some point in July and the RSVP date is September 10.

I don't know about the B-list set of invites, but that info would be helpful for me too! I'm sure some people might realize they're B-list, but that's part of planning a wedding - I think it's understandable.

Our wedding date is May 31st, our A list of invites' RSVPs are due April 20th and our B list's RSVP due date is May 15th... we wanted enough time to leave wiggle room on both ends/lists!

Are you having your rsvp cards printed twice? This is a really good idea for the two lists to have two different rsvps but I just don't know how to pull that off.

Yup, I had them printed twice! They are the exact same RSVP, just the due date is different. My friend (she's also a seller on etsy) designed & printed them, so it was easy!

Yup, I had them printed twice! They are the exact same RSVP, just the due date is different. My friend (she's also a seller on etsy) designed & printed them, so it was easy!
