When to send STD

Hi

I am getting married July 3 2011 and I am not sure when to send my STD. My FH is saying a year before, but I am thinking the sooner the better since it is a holiday weekend. What do you think?

I think a year is enough time. o be safe, maybe try sending them i June before people head out of town for the summer.

I plan on sending mine about a year in advance (around the end of May/beginning on June.

Im getting married in June. My mom came up with a cute idea to send my STDs out with our Christmas cards.

I think it's a cute idea!

But I don't know if it's a litle late. I mean, I don't want to remind people a year in advance and then they stash them somewhere and forget about them!!!

Scooby, because your wedding is a holiday weekend, the sooner the better! Because family/friends will know about your wedding before they make any plans!

Cute idea to send the STDs with Christmas cards! We almost did that for my sister last month, but we really couldn't get them done in time so we did them right after the holidays (her wedding is actually 7/3/10). 6 months is pretty standard, they say 6 - 9 months if you're on a holiday weekend!

Thanks everyone for your advice!! I love the christmas card idea, but I think that will be too late for me . We are sending out magnets so hopefully people do not lose them or put them away and forget them. I think I will shoot to send them out in June so this way I will have hotel information to send everyone also.

Mine is also a holiday weekend, so I plan to send them out this memorial day weekend so people realize it's a holiday and don't make other plans!

i think 9-12 months before is suffecient. Most OOT guests should pretty much have an idea of your plans anyway right?? Any sooner than a year and they might get lost/misplaced.

Our engagement party is in March 2010 and we are getting married april 2011. We are sending out the save the dates with the engagement party invites and then the rest in April

I just sent out about most of mine so I'm about a 12-11 months in advance!! I really hope it wasn't too soon but I was worried ours being a holiday weekend around New Years and being a Sunday.
