at least 3 years! I want to enjoy our lives together first, afterall, once you have a child, your life is not yours again until they are grown up!

Re: when to start a family?
I would like to wait more like 3 years! That would give us some time to get to spend alone with one another as husband and wife. Maybe travel and stuff and more importantly get more finacially sound

Re: when to start a family?
Sadly, we are probably moving to South Africa after the wedding for FI job. Since I cannot legally work there even if we are married - I''m getting a puppy and trying to have a baby right away. I''ll have plenty of time and with the cost of living so low - I can afford a nurse to help me (less than $200 a month for full time help). Since my family is here - it will be tough.
I''ll be 30 by then and FI will be 32 so I think it will be time. We want more than one child so time is ticking. We''ll be together 4 years before getting married so we''ve had lots of time together (always worked together and lived together).
If I was younger - I''d wait a while.

My FI and I are going to be 38 when we get married and he had a daughter who will just be 11. So we want to wait about 6 mos. then start trying. This will probably be the only one for us though.

Re: when to start a family?
WE are planning on having a honeymoon baby. WE''ve been dating 6 years and living together 4 years. For health issues, we are going to try once we are married. I have multiple fibroids and fear that I would get more multiple fibroids and not be able to conceive. Plus, I am 33. So we are ready!

Re: when to start a family?
I am thinking anywhere from 1-3 years. I love children and we are both very excited about having a family someday. But we need to save money and chances are I will be in Graduate School, so i would prefer to have finished that before we did. But sometimes things happen.. And i would be so happy when they did..

Re: when to start a family?
we''ll probably try once we move into a co-op, and I am hoping that will be in 2005. I am nervous about it. I will be 34 in 2 weeks (holy sh*t....I can''t believe it) and my parents had many problems TTC (15 years went before they had me) and I really hope I don''t have problems. FH said he doesn''t want to adopt or egg donor so I hope I will get pregnant before I''m too old to.

Re: when to start a family?
I can''t really say how long it will be but definitely not less than a year and definitely not before we have a house. It is basically dependent on when we feel that we are financially ready so that we do not have to struggle and we can give the baby a good life.

We will try to have a 'honeymoon' baby. FH is 38 and I am 33 so we are definitely ready for kids.......
