How far in advance should I start taking dance lessons from our wedding date?
We want to take typical group style ballroom dance lessons and then have a choreographed dance for our wedding. dont want to start too soon, or too late!

Re: When to start Dance Lessons
well it also depends on how well both of you dance...also some ppl are good dancers but have a hard time following others, i know ppl who have danced their whole lives but are solo dancers and they have a hard time dancing with a partner...i would say though that maybe 8 lessons should be fine, i guess try for that many a few months before the wedding like 3 months...see how well you're doing after 8 lessons and then determine from there whether you'll need more but actually the instructor should tell you how much longer you would need

Re: When to start Dance Lessons
FH and I just hit the 5 lesson mark on our lessons. We wanted to start earlier (I know a couple that danced together for one year to practice for their wedding!) but we got sidetracked and such but we're getting along great with the dance that we're doing and we're about three months away from the wedding.
I agree tho it's how well the both of you dance in general with each other.

i don't think it could ever be too early to start. FH and i have been taking swing lessons and not only do we really love it, but i think dancing has brought us even closer...if that's possible!! we have so much fun and we love to dance together...you should start as early as you like!

Re: When to start Dance Lessons
Good question.....I have meaning to take lessons myself. I hope its not too late! I guess it depends on how skilled a person is. Fh is pretty talented. Me, not so skilled.
