If I were you (and if you've set your honeymoon budget), I would contact a travel agent ASAP and tell them what I have in mind and what I'm looking to spend.

so beach, but just like lay on the beach and do squat all day - or beach with nightlife, or beach with sight seeing, or beach spa or etc etc etc. more specifics....

and where have you been already, and where don't you want to go.

what about southern spain...it is still warm and beachy.. or hold off on the big honeymoon until it's warm enough for you guys to go to Sicily. Ischia is a spa island off the coast of Capri.....I know you wanted to go there so that's an idea.

we are not leaving on our big honeymoon until June- we just gonna bum around here for a few days after the wedding.

Don't panic. On NYE I was getting my hair cut and the girl next to me was getting married 1/28/06 and still hadn't booked a honeymoon yet and she's planning on going on one, so it's not as though they were waiting until later.

I agree that you should talk to a travel agent. I used Frank at Liberty Travel in Bayside and was very happy with the service.

What about the Riviera Maya area? Or Cabo?

See the problem with going to see travel agents is that they'll often confuse you by adding in all the options of different places you can go. So you might go in with 2 thoughts and come out with 10, which is what happened to my FH.

You really need to narrow down your search to 1 or 2 places at most. Know exactly how many days you want to go for and your max price range. Once you give the travel agent that, they can find specific packages for you. I'm going to hawaii for my honeymoon because i also would like the beach, but my FH and i also like to be active and do certain excursions/activities. But if i only wanted the beach... i'd go for a sandals resort in st. lucia (which most likely would have been our 2nd option). But that's just me.

Seriously... you should try to figure this out asap and book it. Check www.tripadvisor.com for reviews and also check out their forum section for advice. Good luck!

You need to ask yourself:

1) How long can you go for?
2) How much can you spend?
3) Do you want to lounge by the pool or see a lot of sights?

If you can go for a long time, can spendmore than average, and want to lounge and do stuff go to Hawaii.

If you can't go for a long time and want to lounge around a lot...hit the Caribbean. I know prices vary greatly down there.

And then make a decision...SOON!

part of the issue was that my FH's vacation schedule wasn't released till just a week ago...and he still has to get off for our actual wedding

so....now we kinda know the time frame and the cost.

it was interesting because i thought hawaii would be sooooo expensive and my travel agent was able to secure a good deal on one... money isn't an issue when we are actually there (meaning, we can eat out and shop, etc.)...it's more paying for a honeymoon right now that would kill us...

Considering your wedding is 3 months away, I think now would be a good time to panic.

In all seriousness, just call a travel agent and see what different things they can offer you for the amount you have to spend. Then pick up the brochures and discuss with FH.

i hear ya my payment for the honeymoon is due this week and we are in the process of moving and all of the final payments are due. nice right.
we are going to end up charging a little less then half of the honeymoon. ugh!!! however that wont be a problem after the wedding to pay that amount off.

leese, you can't panic about things like a HM! Like people said, there are always deals at the last minute! Thing is, you don't want to be guessing on where you are going up til the last month!

Frank & you need to decide whether or not you want to lounge or do things...Plus you need to know how long you are going. I know the cruise thing was ruled out but for us, we did a payment when we booked & the final payment is due the end of this month! I am sure there is a payment plan that can be worked out if the $$ is tight right now!

Oh side note, you better tell Frank he needs to be at the altar, so he better be working on getting March 25th off!!!
