When you get an invitation do you call the couple to let them know you received it and tell them how nice it is?
Someone was a little upset with my FH and I for not making that call.
I didnt know this was a must.

If it was someone that I spoke to on a regular basis, and happened to be on the phone with them, I'd mention it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make a special call!

I am glad I am not the only one. I felt really bad but then again I would not expect a call from anyone.
I have numerous weddings this year...now I dont know if I should be calling everyone...I want to do the right thing.

ummm...definetely no---I just received 3 wedding invitations within the past 4 weeks and I didn't call any of them! I was planning to call my one good friend from high school-but just because i haven't spoken to her in awhile and she used the same invite I want to! LOL but it definetely isn't protocol.

I did that w/my friend who I spoke to daily, I mentioned it but she wasn't 'expecting' the call!! Oh & my mom when she remarried. That's it!
Most brides would just be happy/satisifed that the guests sent back the RSVP card in a timely fashion/by the RSVP date.
Maybe she's stressing

Wow, I've never heard of this before in my life. I sure hope 250 people don't call me when they get my wedding invitations or I will have to take my phone off the hook

I've never heard of this, it sounds ridiculous. Unless, of course, it is a very good friend who is just anxious to hear what you think of her invite, but then again, if it was a really close friend then you probably would have known what the invitation looked like already.

I only did it for my cousin's wedding. I don't think it's standard and if it is people owe me about 150 phone calls.

I'd have to say I agree with the others, I have never heard of that, but if I happen to see the couple before the Wedding, I would mention that the invitation was lovely, that I have done before.
