I always bring the whole invitation envelope just in case I lose the directions or the 'time' of anything, then at least I have everything right at my fingerprints

no...but dont forget the directions there will be a place card for you at the wedding so they will know you were invited

Yes, it may seem silly. However, better be safe than sorry. I don't want to show up at the door (having to be dressed in our best with our wedding gifts) and be turn away for not having an invite.

no and I have never been asked to show an invite as well. But if you are unsure, it is better to be safe than sorry.

I bring them in the car (sometimes) for directions etc.

i usually just bring it for security, like in case i get lost, i'll know the exact name of the place and usu. directions are in there.
