When you have random table numbers...

When you have random table numbers...

like when you name your tables rather than numbering them....are you just letting your guests walk around and find their tables? Let them do the guess work?

See, my table numbers are named AND numbered. The confusing thing is, I am not going in chronological order at all. And besides, we don't have 49 tables (our highest number, for Ron Guidry).

Should I provide a layout plan or just let the guests fend for themselves? I can see my mom complaining about this!

I can't believe this is even occuring to me! Weddings are outta hand, I tell you!

I know- isn't it completely ridiculous to even be concerned?

I am naming my tables - i am giving my RH a chart that shows the table names that correspond with the table number so they can assist

you can make a layout chart and put it in a frame on the place card table to help make it easier

I think your guests may enjoy looking around at all the different table numbers in persuit of their own table. I wouldn't stress... even with table numbers I'm usually wondering around trying to find my seat anyway.

Groom side will know to go to the right
Bride side knows to go to the left

My right side was Odd #'s
My left side was even #'s

So as long as you have #'s on there too, I think you'll be ok. People will find there seats!

Just an FYI.....my reception hall numbered the tables themselves and I had to leave them in that order....make sure to double check with your RH that you can switch around the table #'s.

That is a good point! My sister worked hard enough on those babies not to be seen! I'd also like people to check out the little anecdotes with them too.

Okay cool - thanks everyone!

Re: When you have random table numbers...

this is my MAJOR issue right now...
I'm doing the years we're dating. now we've only been dating 8 years and have 16 tables. So i figured that we'd do months and years... so we're doing something like Jan. 1999, Feb 2000, Nov. 2001. And writing blurbs on them....

The whole # issue is making me insane. Do i add a number in, do I make a chart, do i say F the entire idea and just do regular friggin numbers, why am I so insane, do I get an eisle to put a chart on, etc etc...

Only thing that made my life simpler was to just put everything chronologically... is this an option? I know you said you were not, but would you concider just putting them in order for your guests sake?

If not, no biggie, theyll find their way. I went to a wedding that had flower names for the tables and just walked aorund till I found it..

Either way I wouldn't worry about it. If they have to walk around to find their table no big deal.

However, I do think maybe a framed layout of where the tables are in the reception room is a good idea. Nothing big, nothing fancy, just something as a guide for which direction to walk
