When you met w/ your priest for the first time what did he ask you?
Just curious how all of you brides who live with your FH handled this? Did that come uP???

it didn't come up at all. it did come up briefly at pre-cana, but since all 5 of the couples were living together already, it was just mentioned in passing.

Ok, so listen.... the first church that we went to(they didnt have the time we needed so that's why it was the 1st)...ok, anyway, we made the MISTAKE, yes MISTAKE of telling the priest that we lived together... it came up because he asked for our addresses... well, let me tell you .... he gave us about a half hour lecture on premarital sex etc...... it was soooooooooo uncomfortable.... so, the next church that we went to , we LIED... I know, how bad is that? we LIED to a priest... but I have to tell you ..... it was sooooooooo much better and quicker... if you can give them your parents address or something like that... then IMO do it... you'll save yourself the headache. Again, JMO!

We briefly considered lying, but then thought better of it. When it came up (he was filling out a form and needed our addresses) he was not a bit fazed. He said he realized that more and more couples are doing that these days, and while it's not something that he would feel comfortable 'approving' or encouraging, he did not look down on us for it.
Every priest is different, though, and some of the old-school ones might be bothered. But lying to the guy that's going to perform your wedding ceremony seems like a bad way to start off a new life...

I don't know if you read about my first meeting with our other priest. He asked me and Fh if we knew the difficulties our kids would have being biracial Needless to say FH and I were pi$$ed. We have a new priest who is MUCHHHHHHH better. He just asked us about why we wanna get married and what makes us sure that we are ready for such a huge commitment. He is really nice.

Our priest was very traditional, so we didn't exactly lie, but we used our parents' addresses when he asked for ours. Only a little lie

Thanks guys!! I always use my mom & dad's address anyway b/c it's the one that's on my license. It's where I 'legally' live. I'm just nervous I guess in general!
