When you went to pick out Tuxes for FH and the Groomsmen.............

FH and I are going on Sunday to a couple Tux places, and Im totally confused about how the whole Tux 'rental' thing goes.

Lets say we find the ones we like for him and all the groomsmen. Whats the next step???

Do you leave a deposit right there? Does each groomsmen have to individually come in, get measured, then leave a deposit? I feel dumb asking but Ive never done this before

they do go and get measured individually. At the place we went to we had to put a $500 credit card security deposit and it got refunded after they got all the tuxes back.

DH and I went to pick out his and the ones for the guys and then they have it on file

We went to Men's Warehouse one night.. just randomly stopped in. We picked out the tux, including the shoes. We left the names of the GM and then they gave us the info about when the GMs need to be measured by and when they will need to pick up the tuxes. So painless!

once you choose what you want, you give them a list of the names of the gms. the only deposit you give is for your FH's tux.

each gm goes in and gets measured and leaves his own deposit or can pay in full.

we used feldmans Esquire on Merrick Road in MerricK. The groomsmen took care of the cost of their tuxes. The groom got his free and depending on how many men are getting tuxedos then some of the others are discounted as well.

This is how ours worked too. DH got measured, they ask you how many GMs and what you want them to wear, they write their names down and usually will give you a card for you to give to the GMs regarding the rentals

Hey I was wondering about tuxedos since we haven't started yet. We are sooo behind with all this. I think we might use Men's Warehouse since people seem to like it. Hey what happens if one of the groomsmen live out of the state? How do they pay for their tux? The measurements we will give them, but how far in advace do you have to pay for it and pick it up? I don't think he will be here until January and my Wedding is February, thanks.

We're using Men's Wearhouse because some of our groomsmen are from out of NYS. So each got measured separately. FH picked out the style number, got himself measured, and each of them will pick up his own tux.

You may want to just make sure the total time that you'll have for the rental. It may be best for each of the groomsmen to get himself measured in his own state, but pick it up the day before in NYS because I think you get only a few days, and then you pay extra.

Most tux places will measure you and then all the men have to do is call in their measurments at the place that your FH is using and pick up the tux a day or so before. This way you are sure they will get the same tux, vest, shirt, shoes etc.

I had GM all over the country. We put a $100 deposit down. Once all the guys return their tuxes, they mail back your refund (or u can pick it up). the tux shop gave me a form that each guy brings to a seamstress when they get measured & I faxed them to the tux shop. A few days before you go pick up the tuxes. It's easy!
