...does he/she buy you things that are his/her taste, or yours??? My DH tends to buy me very nice stuff, but it always seems to be what he likes..
I've just been given a pendant that was my grandmothers - my mom says it's really ugly (I haven't seen it yet), but that it has a sizeable diamond in it that I mgiht want to do something with. WHen I mentioned it to DH he said Oh, I'll have something made up for you. I was taken aback...I never asked for him to make something for me!!!

That seems like a very nice gesture on DH's part.
For the most part with gifts my DH does pretty well - they are usually more toward his tastes but I do end up loving them in a bit

I got very lucky with Tom....he loves to buy jewelry and he has a very good eye for it - so i've gotten some beautiful pieces over the years! He generally buys me what he knows I would like, as long as he likes it....
I think it's sweet for your DH to offer to have something made for you - let him go for it!

Fh is pretty good about getting me things I like, except jewelry. He has horrendous taste in jewelry.

I have been lucky with the things DH has chosen for me. But he's just as likely to buy me something randomly when we're out shopping that I pick out. He's sweet like that.

My FH has great taste and always gets me what I would like. When he's in doubt though, he's been known to get me a gift certificate to one of my favorite stores... LOL, which I don't mind at all.

guess I didn't mention that I had something in mind for it he said he's the one who's supposed to buy jewellry for me. I told him he had better get to it then!
But he definitely has very different taste than my family does. He tends to be 'understated' with jewellry and I come from a mom and grandmother who wear multiple earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets every day! Not that I'm particularly into taht either...I think they also hold silver in higher regard in the UK than we do in the states. I don't think of it as 'serious' jewellry if it's not gold

well, consdiring he mostly buys me technolgy related gifts, I guess it's his taste! He knows better than to buy me jewelrry.
I think he is startingto think he can't ALWAYS get me techie gifts, so he his practising picking out jewelery--it makes me a little nervous.

He usually buys what he likes.... when it comes to jewelry though, I really don't mind, he has very good taste.
But when it comes to clothes... ugh...I swear sometimes I think he wants me to dress like a grandmother!!
