When you've gotten sick from something you've eaten in a restaurant?
Do you call and complain, or do you just never go there again?
I had a dodgy burger on Saturday and haven't felt right since then. I threw up yesterday and DH asked if I wanted him to call them to complain. I just thought, what good does that do?
What woudl you do?

I got really sick from some bad Chinese food a few years ago. I didn't bother to call them because I don't think it would have gotten me anywhere. The place closed not long after, and of course I never ate there again.

I think it would depend on how often you go there and if you will miss it if you stop going.
If you like the place, call and complain. You may find out that you weren't the only person who got sick and that there was a bad batch of something that slipped through. You may get a free meal and a huge apology.

I got food poisoning from mushrooms on a pizza once. I still go there for plain pizza but will never get mushrooms on anyhting ever again.
I also got deadly sick from bad chicken salad from this place I always go to. I still do there, thought it took me about 4 months to go back there. But I am just more careful about what i order everywhere now.

I got salmanella from KFC once when I was little. This was before people had the litigious attitudes that they do now - so other than lots of medicines and a few doctor's visits, nothing was done. I still will not eat any KFC.

can you be sure it is from the burger? If so i would DEFINATLEY complain..
But i always thought that if someting you eat is bad...you usually get sick pretty quick...not usually a day later... But i could be wrong

my entire family got sick from a relatively pricy dinner at the Sonoma Grill off Sunrise...
we never called to complain, but we will NEVER EVER go back there.

I got food poisoning from a cheeseburger at a diner I used to go to. It does take appx 12 hours for food poisoning to have its affect (at least that's what the cute doctor who gave me a shot in my butt told me ). Anyway, to answer your question, no, we didn't call to complain although we (me and my mom) were in the hospital overnight so we probably should have. I didn't eat diner cheeseburgers for literally 9 years after that.

Well, I just have my rehearsal dinner there, that's what I do! The ONE restaurant I ever got food poisoning from, FMIL INSISTED on booking our rehearsal dinner at. I never complained at the time, I just never went back....until July 1

Are u sure it is food poisoning? I had this last week and am still not sure if it was food poisoning, I also had 102 temp . I would just not go back there. I hope u feel better, and try to take it easy for a few days .

I called and complained and they gave me like a certificate for a free meal there - I mean, I never even used it, I wasn't going back there!
