WHEN?WHERE/HOW???

Ok all of us '09ers have to tell all about our engagement!!

Where did it happen?
When did it happen? and
How did it happen??



Well my fiance Chris is in the Marine Corps and is stationed over in San Diego (thankfully in a non deployable unit as of right now). He does not get to come home very often so when my 21st birthday rolled around this past October- I just thought I would be going out and celebrating with some of my girlfriends!! However, lucky me got 2 big suprises on my big birthday! Chris suprised me and flew home the night before my bday! But I had no idea= my dad went to pick him up at the airport because he told my dad before hand he wanted to talk to him about asking for my hand in marriage. SO on October 12th (thurs) the night before my bday I was getting ready for bed at around 11:30 since I had work the next morning and here comes into my bedroom my dad saying someone is downstairs to see me- IT WAS CHRIS!!! So after work on friday (my bday) he took me into the city to Tavern on the Green and we had an amazing dinner- great glass of wine and I never even noticed how nervous my hunnie was- he didnt even eat much of his food- and he LOVES steak hehe...so at dessert time I didnt want anything- but 5 minutes after we told our waiter we didnt want any dessert a woman comes over with a cake platter in her hands saying 'did someone order dessert?' and silly me said 'NO we didnt we told our waiter already thnakyou' hehe the next thing I know Chris is on his knee and there is the cake platter with red and white rose petals on it with the ring in the middle and then a ring on my finger!! lol It was such an amazing night!!

Ok, my fiance and I have been together for 6.5 years and I always thought he wouldn't do it until after college. I had been pressuring him the semester before because I had overheard a convo that my mom was having and I heard that he had his grandmother's ring so I was like 'Well he has a ring so why won't he commit?'

Anyways, turns out he was planning to ask this summer and I had no idea. He was telling all of his family and at his brother's wedding and he asked my step-dad that day permission to marry me.

A little less than a month later, he calls me and he says let's go to the beach. (we see each other everyday so that wasn't weird at all) I wasn't really feeling it but I said okay anyway since we hadn't added anything to our beach glass collection in awhile. We get to the beach and we're walking and I was holding my flip-flops and he takes them from me and then we keep walking and two minutes later he says 'Baby, I have a confession to make, I didn't bring you here to look for beach glass, I brought you here to ask you a question.' Then he got down on one knee and he asked 'will you marry me'? And then I cried for like a minute and finally shook my head yes. Totally blindsided me and it was the most perfect day of my life.

FH proposed on Dec. 14th of last year. It was during finals week... the day before my toughest exam. Needless to say, I failed it and am now repeating the class

I was studying with my nursing classmates when he called and told me to meet him outside. I thought nothing of it since it was our 5 yr anniversary. He told me to pick a restaurant... he wanted to take me out to celebrate for a few. So I ditched the study group and we went to Applebee's

As I was eating, he told me to look down and there was the ring box!!!! Right on the table in front of my plate! I thought it was a joke since he'd always said how he wanted to wait until we were both done with college. He then read me a letter (didn't let me see the ring just yet), got on his knee, opened the box, and asked me to be his wife! The best night of my life!
