Where are all of my AUGUST 05 Brides?

Hi all 8/05 BRIDES!
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend!

I was so successful this weekend. I found my dress, my girls and I found the bridesmaid dresses, and I bought my longline bra this evening. I feel so good that everything is coming along wedding wise. How was everyone else's weekend?

Hi, I was a bum all weekend. I did not do anything wedding related. I think I was on brain freeze. But it seems like you got a lot done. May I ask where did you get your bra from? Those are my next goals; veil, tiara, and undergarments.

O, I did register for the Great Bridal Expo for next Monday at the Marquis. I am going to that. Hopefully, I will find some vendors for photography and limo.

I was in the city and I went to bloomingdales. I visited Macy's and tried on a few there. I have also tried on all the different versions the bridal salons have - so after trying on about 10 different styles I splurged for the Le Mystere Bridal longline microfiber bra. It was $98.00. It was a lot, but it fits so well. It was really comfortable. I have also been warned that if you wear lace patterned undergarments under white/light clothing in certain lighting one can see the pattern and it will be visible in photographs. Since the top of my dress is entirely made out of lace I wanted to be safe and went with the microfiber version.

I think that Nordstrom's also has it.

I just got engaged Christmas Eve to a NYC firefighter named Anthony :) We booked the Jericho Terrace for August 21st 2005!!! Wooohooo! Im a bit behind Im sure, so any help is appreciated.

So far I have the hall, clothing and guest list pretty much done.

this weekend stunk! fh and i got in fight over Fmil's house for dinner with my fam... and had to cancel apt with florist (boo hoo)... but DID go over invites and think we narrowed it down to 3! (I will try to post pics).
my sister was supposed to come today to go bm dresss shopping (i want her to OK it before I have my other girls go see)... but I had oto cancel that b/c had so much work to do programming students! ahhhhhhhhhh why is work so busy when i need to be doign wedding stuff?!?!

was it just a strabless bra? or a whole corset type of thing??

I have a hard time finding a bra that is not too tight, but will STAY up... without me constantly pulling on the top... I HATE THAT! I need one that will stay put withouth cutting off my circulation!

It is a convertible style, that is, you can wear it with or without the straps. It holds me up and I danced all around the fitting room. Lol. It was a sight to see.

I actually went to the Metro Expo at the Marriot, and was both happy and disappointed. Happy because most of the services they were offering, I have already taken care of, but disappointed because the one thing I wanted to see were veils, and not one of the vendors had samples. What's up with that?!

Ok I am really freaking out!! I just got engaged in December and we decided to get married this summer!!! I don't know what I was thinking, and I don't live on LI anymore, i am planning from VA, so all I have done is my reception site (which I am also getting married at!!) How am I going to get this all done??

Don't worry, I am getting married on the same day as you and I live in Maryland. I am getting married in Brooklyn. You can do it just take it one day at a time. I got the Church and Hall. I purchased my dress down here and also getting my invitations down here. I also hired a wedding coordinator to help with the things in New York. Don't worry it will workout.. Oh yeah, I just started planning in November 2004.

I just booked the Westbury Manor as my reception site yesterday. I didnt sleep at ALL last night, thinking of the day. It feels so far away, yet so close. Im going dress hunting with Mommy this week, I have my DJ already, and I still have so much to do.

ANYTIME LADIES!! I KNOW I WILL DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP IT UP TOO!!

I am so glad that there are other 8/05 brides out there too! I actually found some really cute hair pins and clips on the knot.com. They were much more reasonable than the $800 set I fell in love with at the bridal salon - and looked remarkably similar in the picture. I will let you know if they look as good in person when they arrive.

So maybe ya'll know - where can I find bridal shoes, nice scarves for my bridesmaids, and a photographer. I still have not booked one. I need to get on that this weekend.

I'm goignt to look for shoes this weekend, i'll keep you posted, and We are using Duval in Wantagh for Photo and Video.. they were SO nice and a friend used them and her pics were awesome and video was AMAZING!!!!
very reasonable too...
