I went with my girls last weekend and we found dresses for them. I am going with my mom this weekend for her approval and we will order them shortly thereafter. They are Jim Helm Occasions dresses in a pale pink color. The only picture on the website of the dress is on a girl who is lying down.

I attempted to go shoe shopping in Manhattan today, but I was really frustrated. Bloomingdales no longer carries wedding/bridal shoes, I did not like any of the Stewart Weitzman Shoes, nor did I care for the Nine West shoes. DSW had some bridal shoes - but I did not like them either. Where are you going shoe shopping?

Where did you go for your dresses???


I was going to try the Nine West Bridal collection (NINE WEST ARE MY FAVORITE brand of shoes, they fit me PERFECT, every pair i've had!)... but I looked online, and I don't know if I like any of the styles.. so I might have to keep looking. I was also going to try DSW... I just want a basic strappy sandel... i've seen some at Estelle's Dressy Dreses that I liked... it's just that I have an Ivory Dress, so I have to find ivory shoe, or dye it off-white! ahhhhhh

I'll let you konw if I find anying!

There are also a lot of bridal shoe stores online, but i'm leary, b/c I would want to try them on first...

I completely agree with you on the shoe thing. There are a lot of stores online - but I need to try them on before I purchase them. At first I wanted strappy shoes too, but then I realized that you only see the front of the shoe and my dress looks better with a closed toe shoe. I am looking for Fenaroli by regalia (sp?) - so if you see that brand please let me know.

As for bridesmaid dresses, they are from Iman in Upper Brookvile (Nassau) right off of northern Blvd and glen cove road. About 2.4 miles on Glen Cove Rd. If you were going north from 25A.

I negotiated them down from 230 to 209 each for 3 dresses. That was a comparable price from stores I called both in and out of state.

I'm goignt to look for shoes this weekend, i'll keep you posted, and We are using Duval in Wantagh for Photo and Video.. they were SO nice and a friend used them and her pics were awesome and video was AMAZING!!!!
very reasonable too...

Hey Sue...I'm using DUVAL too!! And they are Totalllllly nice...I actually saw them at the Metro Expo and they were about to hound me when they realized who I was they were so happy to see an actual client!!

And I feel your pain about the shoes, my dress is ivory and if I don't find an ivory shoe then i don't want to die them.

I got my shoes!!!! I found Fenaroli for Regalia shoes on sale for $90 - down from $180 at the Bridal Suite of Manhattan. Apparently, Fenaroli was discontinuing a couple of versions of their shoes - but I had seen them on the island for over 200 and they fit so well but did not want to spend so much on them. I am so happy.

Thanks sue! I spent all night running around the city yesterday - 5 stores - from couture to low end and had no luck. So I was really happy that I got my shoes. Oh and for all of you looking for ivory wedding shoes Fenaroli makes them in white and ivory.

Yesterday I order my veil and headpiece at the wedding salon of manhasset.

I ordered by bride's maid dresses last week at RK Bridal.

Yes! The shoes are comfy - my mom thought I should get a spindly stiletto but I went w/ a bigger heel b/c I figured that I would be on my feet all night.

Oh, and I ordered my dress today!! Woo hoo.
