I'm new to all this - I'm getting married June 12th, 2004 - I'm a bit of a geek - I'm almost (sorta) done. So far, I've got -

Church (even did pre-cana already)
Reception Hall
Florist
DJ
Dress
Videographer
Photographer
Limos
Save the Date cards (told you I was a geek)
Blocked hotel rooms

Still to do:
Honeymoon (but that's easy)
Bridesmaid dresses
Invitations
Tuxes
Favors
Last minute church stuff (baptismal certificate, yadda, yadda

I took a planning break for Christmas but I feel like I have so much left to do that this is hard.

I was going to take a break too. But then i read how much others have gotten done, i get an anxiety attack and start planning again.

I actually never noticed this board until tonight. I only saw the BHB board. DUH!!

We got engaged in Jan, 2003, and by July had almost all the major stuff done. We've already booked all the vendors, and have our invitations sitting here waiting to be addressed. We have our rabbi booked, and we will be meeting with him in a few weeks. The dresses have all been bought and we just need to do fittings. Otherwise, we only have the small things left. Picking the menu, ordering the favors, picking the linens for the reception. We wanted to do all the major stuff quickly so we don't have to worry about it anymore.

we're working on little things as well

i just won on ebay
2 white baskets
lavendar tulle
my bridal purse

after the holidays we'll work on the cake cutting set, cake topper, keep garter, unity candle holder, favors, invitations, and gifts for the readers, mom's, and the bridal party.

My hallway is filled with wedding stuff that now I am taking over my mom's closets with wedding stuff

Had makeup trial last night ... picking up the pictures on the way home from work tomorrow. Will post 'em as soon as I can.

A girl that bowls on my league does make up as a living. I am going to talk to her tomorrow about setting up a trial

Thanks nylisa - I guess we got most of the big stuff out of the way so we could focus on the details - but with this lull I start second guessing myself (don't even get me started on my dress) but I am relatively tranquil at the moment.

Kind of took a break from the planning. Work, school and attempting to have a bit of a social life--seeing FH for more than 20 minutes a day and catching up with friends and folks, have been taking up my time. We did just book a band and with the Thanksgiving break I'm hoping to visit some florists and photographers and get that taken care of.

gilgo, I have so much time that I am now working on the little things for the wedding (menus, tissue envelopes, etc.).

nylisa, I'm not very good with the little stuff - I'm hoping that my mom and sister will take care of that stuff - I'm not very patient and I have zero decorating sense. I'm lucky I can dress myself for work. Speaking of decorating - I'm looking for a makeup artist - any suggestions? Have you looked at them at all?

I have booked my makeup artist already. I am using Denise from Angel Eyes. She is wonderful. If you want to see my trail pics, let me know and I will FM them to you.

I spoke to the girl I bowl with tonight who does make up and we're going to be setting up trials soon. I cant wait
