Where are you getting your alterations done?

I want a high quality job but don't want to pay a fortune.

I'm just going where I bought my dress. Most bridal salons have caps so that you don't pay a fortune.

Bridal Reflections quoted me $399 plus $250 for the bustle. I thought that was a bit high.

what about the place you're getting your dress from, that would be the best option

Lillette's in Baldwin (where I ordered my gown) quoted me (I think) $300 cap on alterations, not including the bustle. I think the bustle was $10-15 per point...

ETA - I think stores charge more if you didn't order your gown there... However, that doesn't mean you can't get a better price than you were quoted by Bridal Reflections.

Phyllis @ Gownfind-I am paying 450 and that is with an elaborate bustle, cleaning and rebeading.

my alterations are REALLY expensive.... it's kind of ridiculous actually.

but i wanted to get them done where i got my dress (kleinfeld)

$350 cap for alterations
$150 for the bustle

i ordered my dress from Phyllis, and cap on alterations INCLUDING bustle is $175.

i feel like Klienfield was trying to rob me blind...$54something standard fee for alterations, plus i needed extra length another $150 ...whoa
