Re: Where are you getting your wedding cake from?
We got our cake from Macayla Michaels Desserts. We are having a show cake out at the reception (one tier will be real for cake cutting) and their will be a sheet cake that gets cut up for the guests. This way the guests don't have to wait for cake cutting to be over before they get their cake.
Here is a pic of the cake I picked out and of the cake they did for my shower

We are getting ours from World of Chantilly in Brooklyn. (and it is being made out of rainbow cookie :))... but they do normal cakes also, and they are yum! www.worldofchantilly.com
I bet Zomicks (5 towns) does wedding cakes also, all of their stuff is so good

Thanks Bonnie... was gonna try to talk FW into a chocolate cake, given that parve dark chocolate is doable and tasty. We'll see how it goes.

Hee Hee, My Father (Blue Duck Bakery) is gonna do mine. Can't wait. I've watched him do so many cakes for other couples that are just fabulous, so i'm really excited to have him do mine. Although, we (my FH and I) are not sure what we want yet. We were thinking 7-layer cake of sorts.
Ladies, All of your cakes are beautiful!

We're keeping it simple too and getting our cake from the Hall!
Same here, i can't wait to taste the cake esp. Stacy (Matron'D) keep telling us that her hubby love their cake and that he can eat the whole cake.
Have you try their restaurant? Its really good. I can't wait for my wedding

Thanks... yep, it's all fondant... it's a topsy turvy or 'mad hatter' cake. The pic is sort of dark and low res, so you can't really see the geometric decorations well... (Actually, the sample cake sits on the counter above their pasteries, if you've ever been to the store)
FH and I are locals and go there regularly (actually, just an hour ago ) and we've been eyeing that sample for YEARS....)

Fortunado Bros. in Willaimsburg. Not sure what type of cake yet.
I LOVE this bakery!!! You are SO LUCKY! I used to live in Williamsburg and I just LOVED their gelato and cannoli!!!! I love the old Italian side of that neighborhood- they're all so cute!
We're getting our cake through Black Forest (provided by hall). Just wondering if they can add some pinstripes and make a nice little lacing that going around the cake that looks like the facade at Yankee Stadium. Yes I'm a nut. I wonder how much it would cost to get something a little more on the simple, custom design side....
