Mom! My mom is baking the very fancy tiered cheesecake from Martha Stewart's old 'Weddings' book--she made it for my sister's wedding years ago. It's yummy, has apricot filling and I think has white chocolate around the outside, but I told her she could leave that off, I don't like white chocolate much. But since our hall provides a cake, and my FH doesn't like cheesecake (it's his one major fault, I've forgiven him ) we're getting a huge tower of cupcakes from Black Forest Bakery. They sound great: some yellow, some chocolate, some carrot, with assorted pastel blue, yellow, and ivory icing, decorated with flowers in the opposite color and pearlized sugar. Then I'm having Black Forest make a chocolate, Giants-themed groom's cake. That one will be smaller, we're going to have too much cake!
I like the idea of the cupcakes, because we're going to have a lot of kids there, and if they can't wait for the cake cutting, they can have some cupcakes. I'm not sure which one we're officially cutting, though. I finally bought a neat vintage cake knife and server off eBay, so we need to cut one.

From the RH-but we upgraded for an addl amount which I think is ridiculous, but I really want this particular cake and I bought the topper to create the design before I was told the addl fee

We decided to upgrade our cake, so since it came with our package from the chateau, we changed it to that amaing Chocolate Fountain instead and them we went with an outside vendor for the cake, Cakes by Jay, he is just amazing.....

I have my heart set on a chocolate cake (outside). My hall only offers one type (white whipped cream) but they will upgrade, so I'm going to see if they can do it. If not, I already started getting quotes from other places including Audrey's and Mona. The upgrade fee is definitely less than going outside so I really hope they can do it.
