Hey there. As some of you know, I am currently overseas. I´ve been here for a few years now so I feel out of touch with the current things in NY.
I want to register somewhere that is nice but not too expensive so that I can get most of what I want. (my wedding is only going to be about 50 - 80 people).
My mom suggested Bed, Bath and beyond.
Any other suggestions? Any experience you might have had with them would be great. I am told some places throw in little gifts or give you a discount on the things that you registered for that noone bought. Things like that would be helpful.

I'm registered at Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate & Barrel and Macy's....Macy's and Bed Bath always have good sales going on.

We only registered at BB&B (as well as our honeymoon registry at travelersjoy.com) -- they have a great return policy (cash!) and had everything we needed.
Unfortunately, since I'm not having a regular shower, I'm barely getting anything at all from our registry... I might just go and get some stuff for myself soon from it. But that's not because of them...

I heard that Macy´s gives you a gift card worth 10% of everything that your guests bought as a gift for your wedding? Has anyone heard of/experienced this? Does BBB do something similar?

We are registered at Williams Sonoma, Crate and Barrel and Macy's.
I would say Bed Bath and Beyond and Crate and Barrel are some budget friendly options.

I'm registered at BBB & Macys.
They both have similiar deals-if you register for a certain amount of stuff from certain companies (like $2500 from Lenox) you can send in for free gifts. I got beautiful champagne glasses from Lenox for free-they said they sell for $60 and a Vera Wang crystal votive holder for free. They also offer gifts after people buy stuff from your registry.
BBB offers you % off after your wedding to complete your registry. They are great because they have 20% coupons all the time.
Macys is good because they are always having awsome sales. Also if you have a Macy's card (you should open one if you don't) you can accrue points 1point=$1 that everyone spends on stuff from your registry. They send you a gift certif. after your wedding and they also give you % off to complete your registry.

Macys and BBB BBB if you register for something and someone buys it, you no longer want it they give you CASH returns

We are registered at BB&B, Crate & Barrel, Bloomingdale's and a few items at Tiffany's.
I would definitely recommend BB&B & Crate & Barrel - they both have great stuff!
